The 3rd China Sodium Ion Battery Frontier Technology and Industry Development Forum, organized by Battery World Online, was held in Changsha on March 17-19, 2025, aiming to build an open and shared industry communication platform to promote the technological innovation and industrialization of sodium ion batteries. In the afternoon of March 18, Dr. Sun Shanshan, R&D Director of Sodium Power of WKT, delivered a keynote speech at the forum, covering the background of the development of sodium power, technological breakthroughs and multi-scenario applications, especially the performance advantages and market applications of the company's focus on the research and development of ultra-high-safety polyanion sodium batteries and ultra-high-magnification cylindrical sodium batteries.

First of all, Dr. Sun introduced the ultra-high safety performance of Vickers polyanion sodium batteries, with its stable material structure and advanced process design to reduce the risk of thermal runaway from the source; excellent stability performance in extreme tests such as overcharging, short-circuiting, extrusion, pinprick, and thermal runaway; and high energy density and ultra-long cycle life with excellent performance in ultra-low temperature environments, with the extreme low temperature of -40℃ can still maintain Dr. Sun also highlighted the excellent performance of Wolters Kluwer's products in extreme low-temperature environments. Dr. Sun also highlighted WKT's current mass-produced S series of polyanion sodium products, which are industry-leading in terms of energy density, cycle life and electrical performance indicators, and are widely used in energy storage and special equipment power supply scenarios that require high security.

Afterwards, Dr. Sun introduced the Wolters Kluwer Ultra High Rate Cylindrical Sodium Ion Battery in detail. The battery supports high-multiplication pulse discharge of over 45C, with long cycle life and high safety. It is also the world's first sodium battery to adopt the full lug structure process, which reduces internal resistance by about 70% compared with traditional batteries and optimizes heat dissipation performance, reducing temperature rise by more than 35% when discharging at high currents. Vickers high-multiplication cylindrical sodium batteries are widely used in starting batteries, auxiliary power supplies and other scenarios that require high multiplication.
